Corrective gymnastics – this kind of gymnastics aims at correcting postural defects by applying accordant exercises. These exercises' purpose is to stretch particular muscle parts responsible for a certain disease. There are two types of muscle stretching: passive and active. Passice muscle stretching is when only by a body position the muscles are being stretched.
If either the patient or the physiotherapist is engaged in the muscle stretching it is an active stretching.

Basic exercises are the following:

breathing exercises – kyphosis, scoliosis

back and buttocks muscles exercises – kyphosis, protruding scapula

stomach muscles exercises – escalated lordosis

corrective exercises for pelvis – escalated lordosis

anti-gravity exercises, active straightening and stretching of the back – escalated lordosis, kyphosis, protruding scapula, scoliosis
